Soeben ist die 4.0.1 Version der Geocaching App erschienen.

What’s New In Version 4.0.1

 

In this release, we have addressed bugs and feature limitations present in the initial 4.0 release. Specific changes include the following:

 

• 
   
  
• Bing Maps zoom level adjusted to previous (and better) configuration.
  
• iPad now shows the compass button on map if it has an electronic compass available.
  
• We fixed the dates which were showing up as blank on iPhone OS 4.0.
  
• Geocache descriptions now scale to fit the page, and can be zoomed in on if needed.
  
• If location services are disabled, the main search screen now indicates this and explains how to turn them on.
  
• Improved performance of Pocket Query download.
  
• Photos can now be accessed from a Pocket Query geocaches details screen.
   
  Known issues remain, and we are working to address them in the next release very soon.
   
  
• We are working to improve the Google Maps functionality to bring it more in line with our Bing Maps presentation.
  
• Large Pocket Query files may have issues with 3G and older devices. If you have this issue, we’d recommend reducing the pocket query size for better reliability until we can fix this.
  
• Additional waypoints for some caches are not displayed on the map. We are aware of this and working on it.
  

 

 

Die wirklichen Probleme mit der neuen 4er App sind damit allerdings nicht behoben. Das User Interface ist immer noch unverändert, die App langsam und das Handling besch...eiden. Bei mir ist es sogar so, dass ich keine Pocket Queries mehr habe (und auch nicht mehr runterladen kann) und die Verbindung zu gc.com funktioniert auch nicht mehr.
